Code of Conduct
Expected Behaviour
All individuals must act with courtesy and respect, following staff instructions, using facilities safely, and adhering to all posted regulations. Expected behaviors include treating others with dignity, being polite, and using appropriate language.
Non-Acceptable Behaviour
Certain activities are discouraged but may not immediately result in removal unless repeated after warnings. These include disruptive conduct like rude language, bullying, sleeping in the facility, unauthorized photography, inappropriate washroom use, smoking, or entering restricted areas without permission.
Prohibited Behaviour
Serious offenses lead to an immediate ban from City facilities. These include:
- Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination, including hate speech or displaying Nazi symbols.
- Criminal activities such as theft, vandalism, drug use, alcohol consumption (outside licensed events), or possessing weapons.
- Sexual misconduct including public nudity or sexual activity.
- Threats or physical violence against others.
Enforcement
The City of Kelowna is responsible for the safe and proper operation of its facilities. Instructions and directions are to be followed at all times and individuals or groups that are non-compliant will be subject to facility banning and/or removal by security and/or the RCMP.
