JCF SUCCESS STORY

Joanne's Story: Securing a Full-Time Job
Before joining the program, I was new to Canada and struggling to adapt to the job market here. I didn’t know how to prepare effectively for interviews, which made it difficult to secure a good full-time job. As a result, I was only able to find part-time work. This was challenging because I wanted to build a stable career and improve my financial situation to support myself and my family. Adjusting to a new country while managing these uncertainties was overwhelming, and I felt I needed guidance to move forward.
During the program, I learned valuable skills, such as how to write an effective cover letter, polish my resume, and improve my interview techniques. These lessons helped me feel more confident and better prepared for the job market. One of my favorite memories was participating in mock interviews, where I received helpful feedback that I could immediately apply. I’m also proud of how I expanded my social network through the program by connecting with other participants and professionals. These relationships have been incredibly supportive and motivating as I work toward my career goals.
After completing the program, I was able to secure a full-time job, which has significantly improved my quality of life. This stability has allowed me to better support myself and my family. Beyond financial benefits, I feel a greater sense of purpose and fulfillment knowing that I can contribute to society through my work.
