Kelowna, BC — On Sunday, July 6, 2025, community members gathered at 1460 Inkar Road for a hands-on workshop to build free DIY air cleaners—simple, effective tools designed to improve indoor air quality by reducing exposure to wildfire smoke, allergens, and airborne pathogens.

Participants not only learned about the risks associated with wildfire smoke but also gained practical knowledge on how to protect their families and homes.

In one hour, attendees walked away with custom-built air cleaners they assembled themselves with guidance from facilitators. The event empowered residents with knowledge and resources to take proactive steps toward better respiratory health, just in time for wildfire season.

This community initiative would not have been possible without the generous support of our partners. We extend our heartfelt thanks to our sponsors for their commitment to public health and well-being. Their support helped make this event free and accessible to all.
