OCCA representatives presented with the portrait of Kings Charles III at the Commonwealth Day Observance

The OCCA Communities Association is proud to celebrate the recognition of two of our members at events over the last two months.

On March 9th, Executive Director Fei Liu, MAEd, had the honor of accepting the portrait of King Charles III on behalf of OCCA at the Commonwealth Day observance hosted by the Royal Commonwealth Society of Canada. This moment symbolized OCCA’s commitment to fostering unity and cultural collaboration within the Commonwealth and was a perfect depiction of this year’s theme: Together We Thrive.

On February 11th, Dr. Hua Meng, OCCA’s Former ED and current President, was also awarded the prestigious King Charles III medal from the City of West Kelowna in recognition of her decade-long contributions to the local economy and her unwavering support for newcomers through OCCA. The medal was bestowed on her by Mayor Gord Milsom and MP Dan Albas and highlighted the outstanding contribution she had made, not only locally but also abroad, that brought recognition to Canada.
